Taryn Uribe Turner (b. 1997, Boerne, TX) is an oil painter and writer based in central Texas. Taryn graduated in 2019 from the University of Texas at Austin, WHERE SHE TRIPLE-MAJORED IN HISTORY, ANTHROPOLOGY, and Art History in the Plan I/Liberal Arts Honors Program.
She has had internships at the Kimbell Art Museum, the Latin American Institute at UT (LLILAS) and the Texas Historical Commission. She then pursued her dream of learning to paint by working at Jerry’s Artarama and completing an Associate’s in Studio art at Austin Community College.
She transitioned to working on a Master of Fine Arts at Southern Methodist University for Studio Art with a full Meadows Artistic Scholarship Award. She has exhibited at The People’s Gallery at the Austin City Hall, Rockport Center for the Arts, East Austin Studio Tour and Austin Community College.
